Legionellosis: untested government buildings

Mr. Jacques Murray was interviewed by a reporter from La Presse to discuss legionella detection analysis which are not mandatory at this moment.

Jacques Murray says that organizations that do not verify the presence of Legionella pneumophila in cooling towers are making a mistake. We can try to achieve the best care possible in these systems, the fact remains nonetheless that the bacteria can still proliferate, especially in times of extreme heat and cause irreparable harm.

Murray points out that the vast majority of organizations refuse to perform these Legionella pneumophila tests, especially because of the additional costs associated with these operations.
